Our Projects & Impact

Partnering for progress in Nepal’s agricultural landscape.
At Himalayan Eco Systems (HES), we are committed to advancing Nepal’s agricultural sector through innovative, community-focused projects. In collaboration with local governments, non-profit organizations, and international development partners, we implement high-impact initiatives that enhance productivity, improve food security, and create long-term economic opportunities for farming communities.
Flagship Initiatives
Community Farming Projects
Our Community Farming Projects, launched across multiple provinces, are among our most impactful efforts. These programs equip farmer groups with essential agro-machinery, high-quality seeds, and tailored training. Each project is supported by a structured system that ensures input availability and guaranteed market access, significantly reducing risk and increasing farmer incomes.
Organic Farming & Certification Programs
HES has led numerous organic farming and certification programs throughout central and western Nepal. These projects offer region-specific technical support, assist farmers in preparing for organic certification audits, and provide ongoing guidance to help maintain compliance with organic standards. The goal is to build sustainable, health-conscious farming systems that also enhance market competitiveness.
Collaborative Projects
Partnership with Karuna-Shechen
In partnership with Karuna-Shechen, HES has implemented specialized training programs aimed at increasing household-level food security and commercial organic farming. Notable among these are:
- Kitchen Garden Training Programs under the Food Security Intervention initiative in earthquake-affected regions of Nepal.
- Sikkim Organic Agriculture Training (2020) in India, focusing on sustainable and replicable organic practices.
Innovation in Climate-Resilient Agriculture
Greenhouse Pilot Projects
To combat climate variability and extend growing seasons, HES has developed and implemented greenhouse pilot projects in vulnerable regions. These controlled-environment structures enable year-round cultivation, protect crops from extreme weather and pests, and allow for the introduction of high-value, income-generating crops.
Biodiversity and Seasonal Cultivation Support
Seed & Sapling Distribution Campaigns
Our seasonal seed and sapling distribution drives play a key role in promoting biodiversity and agricultural resilience. Organized in coordination with local cooperatives and agricultural offices, these campaigns ensure timely access to high-quality planting materials, particularly before peak growing seasons.
Through these multifaceted efforts, Himalayan Eco Systems continues to contribute to Nepal’s agricultural transformation—delivering adaptable solutions that improve livelihoods, strengthen rural economies, and promote sustainable, inclusive farming systems.
